Abu Dhabi, UAE October 7, 2025: Thick fog descended over parts of Abu Dhabi early Tuesday morning, sharply reducing visibility and prompting urgent safety warnings from authorities.
The Abu Dhabi Police and the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) have advised motorists to drive carefully and comply with all traffic regulations to avoid accidents amid the poor weather conditions.
According to the NCM, horizontal visibility dropped significantly in several coastal and inland areas, including Arjan, Al Hamra (Al Dhafrah region), Habshan, Liwa, and Asab. The fog is expected to persist until around 9 a.m.
In a public advisory, Abu Dhabi Police reminded drivers that speed limits are automatically reduced to 80 km/h during fog alerts and urged road users to follow this restriction for their safety and that of others.
“During periods of fog, visibility can drop without warning. We urge motorists to maintain safe distances, avoid sudden braking, and stay updated via official channels,” the police said on X (formerly Twitter).
Weather Outlook for the UAE
The NCM forecast indicates partly cloudy skies across the UAE, with light to moderate winds ranging between 10–20 km/h, occasionally reaching 30 km/h. The winds could stir up dust and sand, especially in open areas posing potential discomfort for those with respiratory sensitivities.
Temperatures will remain on the higher side, peaking between 42°C and 45°C across the country. Coastal regions can expect temperatures from 36°C to 45°C, while mountainous areas will be relatively cooler, ranging from 30°C to 36°C.
Humidity levels will stay elevated, fluctuating between 70–90% in inland areas and 55–70% in the mountains. Meteorologists also expect humidity to rise again overnight and into Thursday morning, particularly along coastal and internal regions.
Meanwhile, sea conditions are forecast to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea, ensuring relatively calm conditions for maritime activities.
Authorities continue to monitor the weather closely and urge residents to stay alert for further updates through official NCM and Abu Dhabi Police channels.
