Coinciding with the fifth annual edition of International Paella Day, the competition honours the legacy of this beloved Valencian speciality on a global scale.

Despite Spain’s role as the perennial host, this year marks a departure as the country opts out of the competition, allowing other nations to vie for the title of best paella chef. The stakes are high, and the public’s votes significantly determine the finalists who will contend for culinary supremacy and the esteemed trophy.

May 31 Deadline

The quest for the finest paella chefs has already commenced. Aiming participants must submit their applications by May 31, 2024.

Prospective contenders must furnish a compelling narrative alongside a brief video showcasing their culinary journey, country of representation, and aspiration to partake in this prestigious competition.


The selection process unfolds in multiple phases. The public can cast their votes from June 10 to 22, 2024, influencing the composition of the finalist pool.

A panel of discerning judges, comprising industry experts, will assess various criteria, including public votes, geographical representation, and social media impact, to determine the ultimate contenders who will advance to the showdown.
