Dubai, UAE — February 2026 — The 36th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival officially commenced today, transforming the emirate into a vibrant hub of culture, commerce, and community throughout the holy month.

Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event will run until 25 March under the evocative theme, “Ramadan Spirit in the Heart of Sharjah.”

Serving as a major extension of the broader “Sharjah Promotions” campaign that began in December 2025, the festival is a cornerstone of the emirate’s annual calendar

According to the Emirates News Agency, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, director-general of SCCI, highlighted its significance as a premier promotional event that fuels retail growth, stimulates the local economy, and revitalizes both tourism and commercial activity during Ramadan.

This year’s festival coincides with the UAE’s “Year of Family” initiative, with its diverse programme of heritage, religious, and entertainment activities specifically designed to strengthen familial and community bonds.

Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, assistant director-general for Communication and Business at SCCI, emphasized that the event solidifies Sharjah’s reputation as a premier Ramadan destination.

He noted its dual role in enhancing the retail sector while enriching the experiences of both residents and visitors to the emirate.

A key highlight of this year’s festivities is the flagship promotion, “Shop… and Unlock the Secrets,” according to Jamal Saeed Bouzanjal, general coordinator of the festival.

Running across six major shopping centres, the initiative offers shoppers the chance to win valuable prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement to the spiritual and festive atmosphere.
