MWC 2024 ends as the world’s premier connectivity event

Over 100,000 attend the event in Barcelona

Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2024 concluded on a high note after four days of intense discussions, networking, and groundbreaking insights.

The mega trade event, held in the vibrant city of Barcelona from February 26-29, brought together global leaders and attendees from 205 countries, who explored pivotal topics such as AI, the usage gap, GSMA Open Gateway, and the investment gap.

MWC Barcelona, hosted by GSMA, is the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event, uniquely combining an expansive exhibition, insightful conference sessions, and a congregation of policymakers crucial to driving the digital economy forward.

Step aboard to the future

Mats Granryd, Director General of GSMA, highlighted the event’s significance: “This event is about providing a glimpse into the future and demonstrating how AI, 5G, and APIs are unlocking new possibilities, thanks to collaborative initiatives like GSMA Open Gateway.”

MWC Barcelona marked the kickoff of GSMA’s annual calendar of events for 2024, with MWC Shanghai set for June 26-28, 2024, followed by MWC Las Vegas from October 8-10, 2024, and MWC Kigali from October 29-31, 2024.

The M360 series, a vital part of the GSMA’s lineup, begins with M360 Eurasia in Baku from May 15-16, 2024, followed by M360 LATAM in Mexico City from June 5-6, 2024; M360 APAC in Seoul on October 1-2, 2024; and M360 MENA in Doha on November 18-19, 2024.

MWC Barcelona 2025 is scheduled for March 3-6, 2025.

  • 4YFN celebrated its 10th-anniversary edition, welcoming 930 exhibitors, 450 speakers, and over 1,000 investors with collective funds totalling €50 billion
  • MWC Barcelona has been certified as carbon neutral for ten years
  • Talent Arena, a new MWCapital programme, celebrated its first edition with a 48-hour Open Gateway Hackathon and professionals from more than 400 companies.
  • Over 2,600 journalists and industry analysts from around the world
