Akabeko, Dubai’s first tabletop Yakiniku Japanese restaurant, has announced the launch of its new spring set menu, with a special Valentine’s Day twist. Available all day from February 13th to 16th, the menu includes the addition of a dessert platter created exclusively for the occasion.
Priced at AED 950 for two, the carefully curated menu offers couples a unique dining experience in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Inspired by timeless Japanese traditions, Akabeko’s Valentine’s spring set menu celebrates the art of kaiseki dining—a philosophy where every dish tells a story through flavor, presentation, and seasonality. This exquisite menu unfolds as a harmonious sequence of intricately prepared dishes, offering a feast that is visually stunning as it is delicious, capturing the essence of spring’s renewal and romance.
The culinary journey begins with Hassun, a signature Japanese tasting course integral to the kaiseki tradition. This vibrant platter features an assortment of small, seasonal dishes, perfect for those looking to try a little of everything. The artful arrangement represents the beauty of nature and the changing seasons. Highlights of Akabeko’s Hassun platter include Wagyu crispy rice, seasonal Wagyu bites, Tamagoyaki, spinach with Japanese mustard, Wagyu Temari sushi with Uni, an Ikura bowl, tempura, and Chawanmushi.
Next, diners are treated to a palate-cleansing Shimeji Miso Soup, a refreshing kombu dashi broth that sets the stage for the indulgent centerpiece: the Tabletop Grill. This interactive experience showcases three premium cuts of Japanese A5 Wagyu, expertly selected by the chefs.
For the main course, guests can explore Gohan or “cooked meal,” with hearty options such as Wagyu stew, Wagyu curry rice, or the refreshing Yuzu Ramen, each prepared to delight the taste buds.
No romantic meal is complete without a sweet finale. Akabeko’s dessert platter is a visual and flavorful delight, featuring a rich Chocolate Swiss Roll with Strawberry, a Strawberry Macaron, and Sakura Mochi, embodying the essence of romance during spring.
