Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has categorically denied claims that family visa violators are being permitted to amend their residency status under Article 22 of the country’s residency law.
In a statement released on its official X account, the ministry dismissed the reports as “completely false,” emphasizing that no decision or circular has been issued allowing such violators to regularize their status.
Officials reiterated that all announcements regarding residency regulations or ministerial directives are communicated solely through authorized channels. The ministry urged both the public and media outlets to verify information before sharing, and to rely strictly on updates issued through its official platforms.
The clarification follows a surge of misleading reports suggesting potential leniency for family visa violators. Kuwait continues to enforce its existing residency laws as part of broader efforts to regulate immigration and address visa violations.
