Times Square Center Hosts Sew Pink Initiative with Skills3 & Brother International to Support Breast Cancer Awareness

Times Square Center is proud to be a Sew Pink partner venue this year, hosting a unique community-driven initiative on 25th October in collaboration with Brother International (Gulf) FZE and Skills3. The event, part of the broader PinkOctober campaign, invites the public to come together to support breast cancer survivors through meaningful, hands-on contributions.

A breast cancer diagnosis brings not only physical challenges but deep emotional strain. Small, thoughtfully made items such as soft cushions and discreet drainage bag covers can ease recovery and restore dignity for women undergoing surgery. Every stitch becomes a message: “You are seen. You are supported. You are not alone.”

Through this inclusive event, participants will create comfort with purpose while connecting with others through action. Volunteers will craft heart-shaped mastectomy bags and drainage bags, contributing to tangible support for survivors.

The schedule begins with the Brother Team CSR Event from 9 am – 11:00am, followed by public sewing from 11am – 6pm. Volunteers can register for 2-hour slots, with activities including sewing, fabric cutting, stuffing, and trimming, ensuring everyone can participate regardless of skill level. Between 1pm  – 4pm, attendees can attend talks on breast cancer awareness, with insights from a leading medical expert, a notable breast cancer survivor, and a wellness specialist. The event also aims to engage Times Square Center tenants, highlighting their products and services while fostering community connection.

Commenting on this, Marketing Manager of Times Square Center, Michelle Bron says, “The Sew Pink event, in collaboration with Brother International (Gulf) FZE and Skills3, marks an exciting first with Times Square Center. This meaningful initiative brings the community together, fostering connection while raising vital awareness for breast cancer. We encourage everyone to join and be part of this cause.”

The initiative is expected to produce 150–200 cushions and drainage bags to be donated to Brest Friends Dubai. Volunteers will have the opportunity to raise community awareness, provide tangible support for survivors, and engage in a purpose-driven activity.
