UAE In a move that reinforces Dubai’s vision of becoming a fully cashless city, the General Command of Dubai Police and the Government of Dubai’s Department of Finance (DOF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in digital payment innovation and smart financial solutions.
The agreement supports the Dubai Cashless Strategy, aiming to provide residents and visitors with secure, efficient, and seamless payment options across all government services.
The MoU was signed by Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director General of the DOF, in the presence of senior officials from both entities.
Driving Digital Transformation
Lieutenant General Al Marri emphasized that the partnership marks a vital milestone in Dubai Police’s mission to support the emirate’s digital transformation agenda.
He said, “This collaboration enhances our capability to offer secure, integrated, and smart services that elevate customer experience, boost efficiency, and strengthen transparency. By adopting advanced digital payment channels, we are building a sustainable and flexible service ecosystem that supports Dubai’s growing digital economy.”
Unified Vision for Smart Governance
Abdulrahman Al Saleh highlighted that the MoU reflects Dubai’s cohesive governance approach and shared commitment to innovation.
He noted, “Our collaboration with Dubai Police embodies the integration that defines Dubai’s government model. It aligns with our leadership’s ambition to position the city as a global benchmark for smart financial transformation. Together, we are enhancing government efficiency and customer satisfaction through advanced, secure payment systems.”
Expanding Knowledge and Infrastructure
As part of the agreement, both parties will collaborate on knowledge exchange, data sharing, and financial technology innovation. Specialised working groups will be established to develop new digital payment initiatives, strengthen cybersecurity, and promote public awareness of safe financial practices.
The partnership also includes training programmes and infrastructure upgrades to support the secure and sustainable adoption of digital payments across all government services.
