As the winter tourism season approaches, Sharjah Police have intensified their security preparations across the Central Region’s desert areas to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for residents and visitors.
The General Command of Sharjah Police, represented by the Central Region Police Department, convened a dialogue session to review upcoming seasonal activities, safety measures, and coordination plans with key stakeholders.
The meeting was chaired by Brigadier Ibrahim Musbah Al Ajel, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Centers, and attended by Brigadier Khalifa Musbah Al Ketbi, Director of Central Region Police, and Brigadier Faisal Ibrahim bin Nassar, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Centers. Officials from local municipalities, Sharjah Civil Defence, RTA, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Ministry of Interior Air Wing, public hospitals, and search and rescue teams were also present.
Supporting Sharjah’s Vision for Safe Tourism
Brigadier Al Ajel praised the continuous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for advancing the Central Region’s tourism sector.
“His Highness’s vision has greatly boosted tourism in the region. Our priority is to coordinate with partners to maintain the highest safety standards for all visitors,” Al Ajel said.
Strengthening Readiness and Coordination
Discussions focused on safeguarding desert tourism activities, regulating motorcycle rentals, and ensuring visitors have access to proper safety gear and guidance.
Brigadier Al Ketbi emphasized that the initiative reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to a comprehensive security framework that enhances public safety, supports sustainable tourism, and strengthens Sharjah’s position as one of the safest destinations in the UAE.
Collaborative Approach
Participants exchanged ideas and recommendations to further develop tourism services, promote safety awareness, and streamline emergency response mechanisms during peak visitor periods.The session concluded with Brigadier Al Ajel honoring Sharjah Police’s strategic partners, underscoring the importance of joint efforts to uphold public safety, improve service quality, and ensure a secure environment for all desert visitors.
