The UAE has announced new fuel prices for April 2026, with motorists set to pay significantly higher rates starting Tuesday, April 1.

According to the UAE Fuel Price Committee, Super 98 petrol will increase to Dh3.39 per litre, up from Dh2.59 in March. Special 95 petrol will rise to Dh3.28 per litre compared to Dh2.48 last month, while E-Plus petrol will cost Dh3.20 per litre, up from Dh2.40.

Diesel prices have also seen a steep jump, climbing to Dh4.69 per litre from Dh2.72 in March.

The revised rates will come into effect nationwide from April 1, impacting daily commuting and transport costs across the country.

Monthly adjustments tied to global markets

Fuel prices in the UAE are revised on a monthly basis in line with global oil market trends. Since the deregulation of fuel prices in 2015, rates are no longer fixed and instead reflect international crude oil and refined fuel costs.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee determines the monthly prices based on average global benchmarks, including crude grades such as Murban, alongside broader international pricing movements.

This system means that local fuel prices fluctuate in response to global supply and demand dynamics, often with a slight lag based on monthly averages.
