Dubai, UAE — May 2026 — Emirates has unveiled a new livery for one of its Airbus A380 aircraft, wrapping the fuselage of the world’s largest commercial passenger plane in a giant, full-color rendering of the UAE flag.
The eye-catching design, applied to aircraft A6-EVG, extends the airline’s signature tail motif across the entire body of the jet in a bold 3D finish, draping the red, green, white and black of the UAE’s colors across both sides of the aircraft in what the airline is calling a moving canvas of national pride.
According to a press release, the livery forms part of Emirates’ ‘This Flag Will Always Fly’ campaign, launched in response to a nationwide call by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, urging citizens and residents to raise the UAE flag as a unifying symbol amid recent challenges facing the nation.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates airline and Group, said the initiative was a deeply personal one for the carrier. “We’re proud to respond to HH Sheikh Mohammad’s call to raise the flag as a tribute to the UAE’s unity and strength,” he said.
“This new livery is our way of honoring a home that has given us so much, and a nation that stands as proof of what is possible when we collectively choose, every day, to reach higher. There is no greater stage for our flag than in the skies, and no greater privilege for Emirates than to fly it with pride.”
The specially liveried A380 has already touched down in New York and Brisbane and is scheduled to serve further destinations across the Emirates A380 network, bringing the design to runways, skylines and cities around the world. In a further expansion of the campaign, the airline confirmed that plans are underway to apply the flag livery to a Boeing 777 as well, the next largest commercial airliner in operation after the A380.
The UAE flag is already a fixture on every Emirates aircraft, painted across the tails of the airline’s fleet as it spans continents, time zones and cultures daily. The new full-fuselage treatment represents an amplification of that tradition rather than a departure from it.
Special liveries have long been a feature of Emirates’ fleet for significant national occasions. In 2017, the airline marked the ‘Year of Zayed’ with a bespoke design honoring the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, across 10 aircraft, coinciding with the delivery of its 100th A380. That same year, Emirates launched the first of 40 aircraft bearing livery dedicated to Expo 2020 Dubai.
With its latest initiative, the airline once again takes to the skies as an ambassador of national identity — this time, on a scale visible from the ground up.
