Kuwait has introduced a new electronic service that allows citizens to issue entry visas for new domestic drivers through the government’s unified Sahel application, eliminating the need to visit service centres in person.

The initiative, launched by the Ministry of Interior, forms part of the country’s wider digital transformation strategy aimed at simplifying public services, reducing paperwork, and improving efficiency across government transactions.

According to the ministry, the service was developed by the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector in cooperation with the Residency Affairs Sector. The new system enables users to complete visa applications electronically through the Sahel app, helping save time and streamline procedures for citizens seeking to recruit domestic drivers.

Officials said the move reflects Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to modernise public services and create a more integrated digital government ecosystem. Authorities added that the initiative is expected to improve service delivery, minimise administrative processes, and enhance the overall user experience.

The latest development aligns with Kuwait’s broader push to expand online government services and accelerate the adoption of smart digital solutions across public sector operations.
