The Sudanese community in the UAE is set to celebrate its rich cultural heritage and longstanding ties with the Emirates through the “Sudan Festival,” which will take place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai on May 23, 2026.

Organised by Sudanese clubs and community centres across the UAE, the festival will showcase the achievements and contributions of the Sudanese community while highlighting the deep cultural and social connections between the UAE and Sudan.

The event will be attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Dr. El Amin Gafar Ahmed Taha, Head of the Sudanese Community in the UAE, along with several prominent Sudanese personalities living in the country, including business leaders, artists, intellectuals, and athletes.

Organisers expect the festival to attract more than 20,000 visitors from the Sudanese community and the wider public. Guests will experience a vibrant showcase of Sudanese culture through heritage exhibitions, traditional performances, authentic cuisine, handicrafts, and a wide range of artistic and entertainment activities.

The cultural programme will feature performances by Sudanese artists Insaf Madani and Mohamed Bashir, who will present traditional and heritage songs. Folkloric performances celebrating Sudan’s cultural identity will also be delivered by Yousif Al Barbari and Dr. Omar Al Amin.

A Sudanese choir is also scheduled to perform during the festival, paying tribute to the strong historical relationship and friendship shared between the Emirati and Sudanese peoples.
