Emirates has issued a summer travel advisory for passengers flying from Dubai International Airport, urging travellers to arrive at least three hours before departure as seasonal passenger traffic surges.
The airline warned that security and immigration procedures may take longer than usual during peak travel periods, especially as schools break for summer and thousands of residents begin overseas holidays, family visits and seasonal getaways.
Passengers have also been advised to be at their boarding gates no later than 60 minutes before departure to avoid missing flights.
To help ease congestion, Emirates recommended travellers plan extra time for road traffic when heading to the airport. The airline also highlighted the Dubai Metro as an alternative route to reach Emirates Terminal 3, with extended daily operating hours.
Dubai’s aviation sector continues to see record-breaking demand during the summer. In 2025, Dubai International Airport handled 24.2 million passengers between July and September, marking its busiest quarter in more than six decades.
To reduce waiting times, Emirates encouraged passengers to use early check-in options, including online check-in through its app, self-service kiosks, bag-drop counters and biometric registration for Skywards members.
The airline also reminded travellers that bags can be checked in 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours in advance for US-bound flights.
For added convenience, Emirates’ city check-in facilities in Ajman and Dubai remain available, allowing passengers to complete airport formalities closer to home before travelling.
Travellers have been urged to update their booking contact details to receive the latest flight alerts and travel updates.
