CBUAE to host 2026 UAE Banks Reception in Bangkok during IMF-World Bank meetings

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) will organise the 2026 Annual UAE Banks Reception in Bangkok, Thailand, on Thursday, October 15, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and the UAE Banks Federation (UBF).

The event will take place alongside the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, bringing together senior officials and leaders from the global financial and banking sectors.

Among those expected to attend are Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE; Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; and Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation.

The reception will also welcome central bank governors, financial policymakers, chief executives of banks operating in the UAE, and senior representatives from international financial and banking institutions.

The annual gathering provides a platform for strengthening the UAE’s engagement with global financial institutions, developing cross-border partnerships and encouraging the exchange of expertise among senior banking and financial leaders.

Through the event, the CBUAE aims to support the continued competitiveness and international reach of the UAE’s financial and banking sector while strengthening the country’s position as a leading global financial centre.
