Dubai, UAE — July 2026 — Abu Dhabi National Oil Company announced the launch of an international platform for marketing and trading liquefied natural gas, based in Abu Dhabi Global Market.

According to the Emirates News Agency, the platform brings together the marketing operations of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading capabilities of ADNOC Trading under a single, integrated commercial structure.

The move is designed to strengthen operational flexibility and shipping options while supporting the growth of ADNOC’s broader LNG portfolio, including the Ruwais LNG project and XRG’s international expansion in gas and infrastructure. The integrated setup is intended to give customers around the world access to a greater supply of LNG.

By combining forces, ADNOC and XRG aim to more effectively manage their expanding and diversified LNG business, building on ADNOC’s five-decade track record as a trusted supplier of the strategically important fuel.

The new platform is targeting marketed volumes of 47 million tonnes per annum of LNG by 2035, positioning it as one of the most significant platforms of its kind globally and reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s role as a global hub for energy trading.

Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, who also chairs XRG’s executive board, said that in line with the vision and directives of the UAE leadership, the country has cemented its position as a key contributor to global energy security and a reliable partner in supporting long-term growth and progress.

He noted that with global LNG demand expected to grow substantially, the world will need reliable, responsible suppliers capable of delivering supply at scale.

Al Jaber added that the newly announced integrated global LNG trading platform brings together ADNOC’s marketing, trading, and shipping capabilities through a single unified hub in Abu Dhabi. He said the platform marks a qualitative shift in the scale and flexibility of ADNOC’s LNG marketing and trading operations, enhancing its ability to capture commercial opportunities and reinforcing the company’s central role in meeting rising global energy demand.

Rashid Khalfan Al Mazrouei has been appointed to lead LNG marketing and supply development, overseeing the marketing of the LNG portfolios of both XRG and ADNOC Gas, as well as marketing operations and supply sourcing. He will operate out of Abu Dhabi Global Market in close coordination with ADNOC Trading to unify marketing operations under the new integrated platform.

Al Mazrouei will also be responsible for ensuring business continuity across the newly merged platform, building on ADNOC Gas’s track record as a trusted LNG supplier since 1977, during which it has delivered more than 3,500 cargoes worldwide. Existing commercial arrangements tied to ADNOC Gas’s LNG shipments are expected to remain unchanged, while the new platform is expected to enhance the company’s earnings by supporting improved LNG marketing activities, including future production from the Ruwais facility.

The platform will also draw on XRG’s growing LNG portfolio, supported by the company’s supply hubs and offices in Abu Dhabi and London.

Long-term LNG marketing operations will be unified under the new integrated platform, while ADNOC Trading will continue to oversee trading activities, with no change to current customer engagement mechanisms.

Over the past four years, the company has built a substantial third-party LNG business, positioning itself among the leading global players in LNG trading, with offices in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Geneva.

Shipping remains a core pillar of the platform’s operations. In 2025, ADNOC Trading’s LNG shipping desk ranked among the world’s top charterers of LNG carriers, both in the physical freight market and in the freight derivatives market. Separately, ADNOC Logistics & Services has expanded its own LNG carrier fleet to 20 vessels, including 14 new dual-fuel propulsion carriers, further supporting the growth of the UAE’s LNG production and global trade.
