Verta Acquisition
Meanwhile, Cloudera has strengthened its AI and machine learning (ML) capabilities by acquiring Verta’s Operational AI Platform. The acquisition integrates Verta’s team into Cloudera’s ML group, led by Dipto Chakravarty, Cloudera’s Chief Product Officer.
This integration aims to leverage Verta’s advanced AI platform to enhance Cloudera’s AI roadmap, catering to the evolving needs of its global clientele.
Charles Sansbury, CEO of Cloudera, said: “The future of data management is intricately linked with AI. By acquiring Verta’s AI Operational platform, we are bolstering our team and accelerating our operational AI capabilities. This move is the first of many strategic steps we plan to take as we reinforce our leadership in trusted enterprise AI.”
Founded on research from MIT and led by Dr Manasi Vartak and Dr Conrado Miranda, Verta has distinguished itself in model management and governance for predictive and generative AI.
Its platform simplifies the process of building, operationalising, and scaling AI models across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This capability addresses key challenges in AI deployment, enabling organisations to effectively create and optimise large language models (LLMs) and other AI applications.
