Turkish firm unveils CyberGlad – the first camper cabin priced in Bitcoin

Based on Tesla Cybertruck

Turkish vehicle manufacturer Hotomobil unveiled a new mobile living unit, the CyberGlad, at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas. The model is the first camper to be priced and offered for sale using Bitcoin, marking a crossover between the growing digital payments sector and the recreational vehicle industry.

The CyberGlad is a compact, aerodynamic cabin designed for the Tesla Cybertruck. It features four-season insulation, a monoblock body, and a removable design that allows it to be set up or detached in minutes.

The CyberGlad is priced at approximately $66,000. The company has not disclosed the Bitcoin price, likely due to the cryptocurrency’s volatility.

It also offers an optional rooftop tent, expanding the sleeping capacity to five people. The design targets users seeking flexibility in travel and independence from grid-based infrastructure.

European market focus

Hotomobil, which has manufactured campers in Turkey since 2015, has primarily supplied the European market. With nearly 80 per cent of its output exported to the region, the company is now expanding to North and South America and exploring opportunities in Asia, Africa, and Oceania.

The use of Bitcoin as a payment option reflects a growing trend towards decentralised finance and mobile lifestyles. At the Bitcoin 2025 Conference (May 27-29, 2025), attended by global blockchain firms and crypto investors, the CyberGlad attracted interest not only for its design but also for what it symbolises—a convergence of mobility, technology, and new economic models.

Company representatives said the decision to present the vehicle at a cryptocurrency conference was intentional. It aimed to demonstrate how travel, housing, and financial systems are evolving. The unit’s design enables its use with electric vehicles (EVs), aligning with environmental trends in mobility, particularly in regions such as the Arabian Gulf, where EV adoption and sustainability are priorities.

Hotomobil CEO Pınar Kamçı said the launch was a response to shifting consumer behaviour. “People today want more freedom in how they live, travel, and pay. The CyberGlad was built with that in mind,” Kamçı said.

She added that the company sees mobile living as an increasingly relevant solution in a world facing housing shortages, high urban costs, and growing interest in digital nomadism.

The camper is part of Hotomobil’s Gladiator product line, designed for mid-size and full-size trucks. The company claims that its cabins can be easily mounted and removed without the need for tools, making them compatible with a wide range of vehicles. Materials and construction methods are drawn from yacht manufacturing, with an emphasis on durability and insulation for varying climates.

With certifications from Volkswagen and Stellantis as a second-stage manufacturer, and European road registration approvals in place, Hotomobil is positioning itself as a serious player in international markets.

For the Middle East and Africa, where interest in EVs and alternative housing is growing, the CyberGlad may appeal to a niche but expanding segment. In the UAE, where the government continues to promote blockchain adoption and EV infrastructure, the entry of such a product may align with national visions of sustainability and innovation.

The launch of CyberGlad highlights how sectors once considered separate—such as transportation, real estate, and financial services—are converging around digital tools and flexible living solutions. While the CyberGlad remains a high-end option, its availability in Bitcoin signals how crypto assets may increasingly be used in everyday transactions.

As global manufacturers adapt to these shifts, Hotomobil’s entry into the crypto-commerce space may serve as a test case for broader adoption. The company is expected to continue rolling out models in new regions, potentially including the Middle East, where infrastructure and investment in future mobility remain key national priorities.
