Dubai Media Council has opened applications for the 2026–2027 edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students, offering fully funded undergraduate opportunities for outstanding Emirati students at American University in Dubai.
The scholarship initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to preparing a new generation of Emirati media professionals capable of adapting to rapid changes in the global media landscape while strengthening the international presence of UAE media.
Launched under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the programme forms part of the Council’s broader strategy to nurture and empower national media talent through specialised academic training and innovation-focused learning.
The scholarship enables high-achieving Emirati high school graduates to pursue undergraduate studies at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) at AUD, one of the region’s leading institutions for media and communications education.
Academic programmes covered under the scholarship include Journalism, Digital Production and Storytelling, and Game Design and Development. The courses are designed to equip students with creative, technical, and analytical skills needed to succeed in an evolving digital media environment.
Nehal Badri said the partnership with AUD aims to invest in future Emirati media leaders and help build an advanced national media ecosystem.
She noted that the initiative seeks to provide aspiring professionals with technical expertise, critical-thinking capabilities, and creative tools required to navigate the fast-changing media industry.
Hesham Al Olama said academic training remains essential in developing creative media professionals, especially as the industry undergoes major transformations across platforms, formats, and communication tools.
Meanwhile, Sophie Boutros said the scholarship continues to develop talent for both the UAE and the wider region, with graduates contributing across various sectors of the media industry.
Applicants are required to submit Grade 10, 11, and 12 transcripts, TOEFL or IELTS scores if available, SAT results if available, copies of passports and Emirates IDs, military exemption or completion documents for male UAE nationals, and a creative portfolio based on the scholarship guidelines.
Applications can be submitted through the official scholarship portal before the 30 June 2026 deadline.
