The emirate’s aviation sector continues to expand with the inauguration of a new specialised facility at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), developed in partnership with Lufthansa Technik Middle East.
The newly launched painting and grinding centre, located at Dubai South, is designed to enhance component maintenance capabilities, particularly for structural and composite repairs. The facility is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency by enabling faster curing and drying processes, ultimately reducing turnaround times for regional and international customers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, and Ziad Al Hazmi, CEO of Lufthansa Technik Middle East, along with senior executives from both organisations.
Lufthansa Technik Middle East, part of the Lufthansa Group, described the facility as a strategic step forward in strengthening its regional operations. The company highlighted that the addition of advanced painting and grinding capabilities will support quicker and more efficient maintenance services for airline operators.
Based in Dubai, Lufthansa Technik Middle East provides specialised maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, including airframe and component support, structural and composite repairs, as well as logistics and spare parts supply through its global network.
Tahnoon Saif said the new centre represents another milestone in advancing MBRAH’s role as a key aviation hub. He noted that the aerospace hub continues to attract leading global aviation companies seeking to establish advanced capabilities in the region.
He added that these developments align with Dubai’s broader vision to strengthen its position as a global aviation capital, supported by a robust ecosystem that caters to airlines, private aviation, and MRO providers.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub operates as a free-zone destination for international aerospace players, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a strategic centre for aviation services and innovation.
