Authorities across the UAE have issued fresh safety advisories as unstable weather conditions continue to impact multiple regions, bringing rainfall, strong winds, and reduced visibility.

Emergency response teams have been deployed nationwide to manage water accumulation, maintain infrastructure, and ensure public safety. Officials are urging residents to remain cautious, particularly as rough sea conditions and low visibility are expected to persist before gradual improvement later this week.

Nationwide safety warnings issued

The Ministry of Interior (MOI) called on the public to exercise vigilance amid ongoing rain, warning of varying wind intensities, possible hail, and reduced visibility in several areas. Residents have been advised to follow official guidance and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse conditions.

Travel disruptions possible

Sharjah Airport has advised passengers to check flight statuses in advance, as weather conditions may lead to delays or schedule changes. Travellers are encouraged to stay in contact with airlines and allow extra time for airport procedures.

Dubai motorists urged to stay alert

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reminded motorists to adjust driving behaviour during wet conditions. Drivers are advised to remain focused, plan journeys ahead, and monitor official channels for real-time updates.

Speed limits reduced on key Abu Dhabi roads

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have activated temporary speed reduction measures on several major roads to enhance safety:

  • Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Al Falah Bridge – Al Rahba Bridge): 100 km/h
  • Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (Rawdha Reef – Al Rahba Bridge): 100 km/h
  • Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Road (Sheikh Zayed Bridge – Al Shahama): 100 km/h
  • Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Road (Al Hayer – Fuqqah): 100 km/h

Motorists are urged to comply with revised limits and maintain safe distances.

Flash flood risk and thunder warnings

Authorities have also warned of potential flash flooding due to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, which may bring light to moderate rainfall, with heavier downpours in some areas.

Officials clarified that sounds such as thunder are a normal part of current weather activity. In the event of any genuine threat, alerts will be issued through the National Early Warning System.

Residents are strongly advised to rely only on official sources for updates and avoid sharing unverified information.
