Dubai, UAE – Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo division of Emirates, will launch a dedicated weekly freighter service to Almaty from June 16, 2026, marking its first cargo destination in Central Asia and strengthening trade links between the region and global markets.

The new service will operate every Tuesday using a Boeing 777F freighter aircraft, offering more than 100 tonnes of cargo capacity per week between Dubai and Almaty. The route is expected to support the movement of key commodities, including electronics, machinery, perishables and consumer goods, through Dubai’s extensive logistics network.

As Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty continues to grow as a major commercial and logistics centre, serving as a strategic gateway to Central Asia. The new freighter connection is set to enhance trade opportunities for businesses across the region while providing faster access to international markets.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, said the launch reflects the company’s commitment to expanding connectivity across emerging markets. He noted that the service will help businesses in Almaty and neighbouring regions scale their international operations while giving global customers access to a key Central Asian marketplace.

The move also supports Dubai’s ambitions under the D33 Economic Agenda to strengthen foreign trade and reinforce the emirate’s position as a leading global logistics hub.

Emirates SkyCargo has been steadily expanding its freighter fleet and network to meet rising global demand. Since March 2026, the carrier has added four new Boeing 777 freighters to its fleet and expects to receive six more aircraft before the end of the year, further boosting its cargo capabilities worldwide.
