Life Pharmacy secures naming rights for UAE Exchange Metro Station

Part of a 10-year deal

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has awarded Life Pharmacy the naming rights of the erstwhile UAE Exchange Metro Station as part of a 10-year contract.

The Dubai Metro Red Line station is now renamed Life Pharmacy Metro Station.

The agreement was signed between Life Pharmacy Group and Hypermedia, with Mada Media attending under a concession agreement involving the Dubai Metro network between Mada Media and Dubai’s RTA.

Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of Dubai RTA’s Rail Agency, said: “RTA is committed to forging partnerships with the private sector, given its vital role in driving national economic growth and contributing to GDP.

“This public-private partnership model facilitates the transfer of knowledge and expertise, creates job opportunities across multiple sectors, and supports the government’s broader development agenda.”

Mohamad Al Hammadi, CEO of Mada Media, described the new agreement as a strategic and commercial success. He noted that the initiative represents a broader shift in companies utilising public infrastructure to enhance brand presence in Dubai.

“This initiative reflects our goal of transforming advertising spaces into impactful platforms, enabling naming rights sponsors to enhance their visibility and commercial footprint,” Al Hammadi said.

“The agreement presents a unique investment opportunity for Life Pharmacy, capitalising on the strategic location of Dubai Metro stations to strengthen brand awareness and deepen engagement with commuters.”

For Life Pharmacy, the new partnership underscores its expanding role in Dubai’s fast-paced and increasingly interconnected urban landscape. Abdul Rahuman Abdul Nazzar, Chairman and Managing Director of Life Pharmacy Group, highlighted the company’s strong connection to the communities it serves.

“We are proud to partner with Dubai’s RTA through Mada Media to acquire the naming rights for a station that serves as a vital hub within Dubai’s seamless, multi-modal transport network,” said Abdul Nazzar. “This station has served thousands of commuters for over a decade, delivering significant value and connectivity.”

He remarked that the partnership signifies more than a branding opportunity—it signals a more profound commitment to contributing to Dubai’s social and economic fabric.

“This partnership goes beyond naming rights—it reflects Life Pharmacy’s broader commitment to the city and its communities,” he added. “Linking our name to a key metro station demonstrates how Life Pharmacy has become integral to Dubai’s daily rhythm and movement.”

The renaming process rolls out in phases. From May through to the end of August 2025, Dubai’s RTA will begin updating all internal and external signage at the station. Changes will be visible on directional signage, metro maps, and wayfinding systems. The new station name will also be integrated into Dubai’s RTA’s digital infrastructure, including innovative applications, journey planners, and onboard audio announcements.
