Healthpoint, a healthcare facility under the M42 Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Proximie, a global surgical intelligence platform, to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology across its operating rooms in Abu Dhabi.
The collaboration aims to enhance surgical efficiency, improve operating room management and support better patient care through real-time surgical intelligence and predictive insights.
The initiative forms part of Healthpoint’s efforts to advance anticipatory healthcare by using AI-powered solutions to help medical teams identify potential challenges and make informed decisions during surgical procedures.
AI Technology to Improve Surgical Operations
Proximie’s AI-powered platform, supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) through its secure cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure, is designed to monitor surgical procedures in real time and analyse different stages of an operation.
By understanding the progress of each surgical phase, the technology can help healthcare professionals anticipate upcoming requirements, identify potential delays and improve coordination between clinical and operational teams.
The system is also expected to support more accurate operating room scheduling, better resource allocation and faster decision-making regarding surgical capacity.
Platform Planned Across Healthpoint Operating Rooms
Under the partnership, Healthpoint plans to introduce Proximie’s surgical intelligence platform across all its operating rooms, covering a wide range of surgical procedures.
The technology is designed to automatically capture and analyse information throughout each operation without requiring extensive manual data collection.
This approach would allow surgical teams to monitor procedure schedules as they progress, detect emerging disruptions and adjust operational plans throughout the day.
By providing a clearer picture of operating room activities, the platform aims to reduce administrative challenges and enable healthcare professionals to focus more effectively on patient care.
Strengthening Patient Care Through Predictive Technology
Omar Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of Healthpoint, said the partnership represents an important step towards improving surgical coordination and operational efficiency.
He explained that real-time visibility into surgical activities would help medical teams anticipate challenges, coordinate care more effectively and make better-informed decisions.
According to Al Naqbi, the initiative is intended to create a smoother and more efficient healthcare experience for patients while supporting clinical teams with advanced technological capabilities.
Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram, Founder and CEO of Proximie, highlighted the importance of transforming operating room information into actionable insights.
She noted that operating rooms generate significant amounts of valuable data every day, but much of this information has traditionally been recorded manually or reviewed after procedures have concluded.
Proximie’s platform seeks to change this approach by converting surgical information into real-time intelligence, allowing healthcare teams to anticipate operational needs and take appropriate action at the right time.
The partnership reflects the growing role of artificial intelligence in the UAE healthcare sector, particularly in improving surgical workflows, operational planning and hospital efficiency.
Through the planned deployment, Healthpoint and Proximie aim to demonstrate how predictive technology and real-time data analysis can support more coordinated surgical services and improve the overall patient experience.
