The UAE Ministry of Finance has introduced Aani and Jaywan as new payment channels for federal service fees and fines, becoming the first federal government entity to implement the initiative.

The decision follows Cabinet Resolution No. 176M/4M of 2026, which approved the adoption of both national payment systems and outlined the fees related to their use.

The move is expected to support the wider rollout of Aani and Jaywan across other federal entities and collection banks, based on their respective approved procedures. It also aims to strengthen integration within the UAE Government’s payment ecosystem.

According to the Ministry, the initiative is part of its efforts to modernise government payments and accelerate digital transformation by offering customers faster, easier and more flexible ways to complete federal transactions.

Younis Haji AlKhoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, described the adoption of the two systems as an important step in supporting the UAE’s vision for a secure, sustainable and digitally connected economy.

He said the new channels would simplify financial transactions, improve customer experience, reduce operating costs and support reliable financial flows between government entities, banks and collection partners.

Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary for the Government Budget and Revenue Sector, said the initiative would speed up revenue collection, expand payment choices and strengthen connections with the UAE’s national payments infrastructure.

Aani is the UAE’s instant payment platform, developed under the supervision of the Central Bank of the UAE. It allows users to send and receive payments securely around the clock using a mobile number, Emirates ID, email address, QR code or IBAN.

Jaywan is the UAE’s national domestic card payment scheme. It was launched by the Central Bank to provide a secure and efficient local payment option while supporting the continued growth of the country’s digital economy.

The Ministry said it would continue adopting advanced financial technologies to improve government services and strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness.
