ICRISAT Celebrates Success Of Agriculture Entity

XMachines, a robotics and AI company nurtured at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), has achieved a significant milestone by showcasing its cutting-edge technology on Shark Tank India.

The company’s innovative approach to agriculture, supported by ICRISAT’s incubation programme, has garnered attention and accolades.

XMachines introduced its pioneering concept on Shark Tank India, presenting compact, autonomous AI-driven robots designed to revolutionise agricultural tasks such as seeding, weeding, spraying, and planting.

Leveraging the invaluable support provided by ICRISAT, XMachines has propelled its business to new heights.

The ICRISAT Agribusiness and Innovation Platform welcomed Flic Farm, operating under the brand XMachines, to its incubation programme, recognising the critical importance of fostering innovation in agriculture.

Since July 2019, XMachines has embarked on a collaborative journey with ICRISAT, fine-tuning its products and gaining insights into farmers’ real-world challenges.

Dr Victor Afari-Sefa, Acting Deputy Director General of Research & Research Programme Director for Enabling Systems Transformation at ICRISAT, highlighted the institute’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs.

“At the ICRISAT Agri-Business and Innovation Platform, we empower and support entrepreneurs with incubation facilities, scientific expertise, field facilities, and networking capabilities,” he stated.

The X100

The flagship product of XMachines, the X100, is a versatile agricultural robot capable of handling various farming tasks using intelligent attachments.

Available in three sizes to accommodate different crops and spacing requirements, the X100 is already making waves in sectors such as vegetable crops, orchards, floricultural crops, and commercial crops.

Trivikram Kumar D., Founder of XMachines, stressed the urgency of adopting advanced technologies for sustainable agricultural practices.

“Over the past seven years, XMachines has been dedicated to achieving agricultural sustainability at scale. Our success on platforms like Shark Tank and the growing global interest in our products signal a promising future for tech-driven agriculture,” he remarked.

XMachines’ products are gaining traction in India and international markets such as Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States. This recognition marks a significant step forward in the journey toward sustainable farming practices worldwide.

Dr Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes, Director General of ICRISAT, congratulated all stakeholders on the achievement of this milestone.
