Liwa International Festival 2025 (LIWA 2025) has been a vibrant celebration of culture, adventure and fun in the golden dunes of the Al Dhafra region this December. With entertainment, dedicated zones and a jam-packed lineup of events already enriching the experience, a special New Year’s Eve celebration at LIWA 2025 is set to add to the festivities.
On 31 December, LIWA 2025 is going to light up Tal Moreeb – the UAE’s tallest dune – with a host of celebrations. Visitors can look forward to cultural performances, traditional dancing and a special New Year’s Eve concert at Liwa Village, the heart of Liwa International Festival 2025, with Abadi Al-Johar, known as the ‘Octopus of the Oud’ for his mastery of the instrument, and singer Rahma Riad. The duo will act as a prelude to the spectacular fireworks show at midnight, launched from the peak of the Al Dhafra dunes with a countdown to add to the excitement.
Sports lovers can also enjoy the Car Stunt Championship happening on 31 December from 6 pm to midnight and families and friends can indulge in local delicacies, play games, enjoy thrilling rides and visit electrifying attractions like the Hollywood Circus, the Horror Escape Room and the go-karting track.
For a taste of culture, visitors can experience some performances and traditional dancing including Al–Ayyala dance at 5pm until the 30th of December in the Liwa village, while also enjoy some coffee making and Sadu weaving at the Souk in Liwa Village.
The New Year’s Eve celebration will mark a new beginning while highlighting the community spirit and rich heritage that is the beating heart of Liwa.
