Pure Electric, a UK-based e-scooter brand renowned for its award-winning designs, has officially launched in the United Arab Emirates, marking its entry into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This strategic move aims to address urban mobility challenges while promoting sustainable transportation solutions in the region.
The UAE’s bustling cities, particularly Dubai and Abu Dhabi, have long struggled with traffic congestion. In response, local authorities have been investing heavily in smart city infrastructure, including dedicated bike lanes and pedestrian-friendly zones. Pure Electric’s high-performance e-scooters are poised to complement these efforts by offering an efficient, eco-friendly alternative for short-distance travel.

Adam Norris, founder of Pure Electric, described the UAE launch as a “pivotal moment” in the company’s global expansion strategy. He emphasised the brand’s commitment to providing sustainable, safe, and enjoyable urban transport solutions.
Norris highlighted that the latest range of electric scooters has been meticulously engineered with the end consumer in mind, aiming to positively impact local communities by enhancing urban mobility.
Central to Pure Electric’s product lineup is the Air⁴ model, which boasts a 710W motor capable of reaching speeds up to 25 km/h and a range of 30 km on a single charge. The scooter features a forward-facing riding position, offering superior stability and comfort, and is IP65-rated, ensuring it can withstand various weather conditions. Additionally, the Air⁴ is designed with a foldable mechanism for easy storage and portability, making it ideal for urban commuters.
In a notable collaboration, Pure Electric has partnered with McLaren Automotive to introduce the Pure x McLaren 2024 collection. This exclusive series combines Pure’s cutting-edge e-scooter technology with McLaren’s expertise in precision engineering, resulting in a product that offers enhanced performance and design aesthetics.

Harris Qureshi, who brings extensive experience in the electric mobility sector, is spearheading the expansion into the GCC.
Speaking at the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) in Abu Dhabi from April 21 to 23, 2025, Qureshi expressed enthusiasm about leading Pure Electric’s growth across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the broader Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. He noted that the partnership between Pure Electric and McLaren Automotive aims to introduce world-class e-scooters to a dynamic market, enhancing urban mobility and making a positive contribution to the region’s sustainable transport landscape.
Pure Electric plans to expand its presence across the GCC, with future expansions into Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. The company’s strategic approach aligns with regional sustainability initiatives, such as Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasises adopting eco-friendly technologies and reducing carbon emissions.
