Dubai, UAE — June 2026 — Emirates SkyCargo has announced a strategic expansion of its freighter operations across East and Southeast Asia, increasing flight frequencies and broadening its service network in response to growing demand from manufacturers and exporters seeking faster access to markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the cargo carrier transported more than 439,000 tonnes of freight through dedicated freighter and passenger flights across 12 markets in the region during fiscal year 2025–2026, a roughly 5 percent increase over the previous fiscal year. The growth reflects sustained demand from businesses and exporters seeking reliable, time-sensitive logistics solutions to reach global markets.
Badr Abbas, Senior Vice President of Cargo at Emirates, said the region remains one of the world’s most vital manufacturing hubs.
Abbas added that Emirates SkyCargo offers broad options and flexibility through its freighter network serving 12 cities in the region, complemented by significant belly capacity on passenger flights to Dubai and beyond from 25 destinations across East and Southeast Asia. Customers in the region have access to more than 12,000 tonnes of dedicated cargo capacity weekly through the carrier’s global network.
Among the key expansions, Emirates SkyCargo has doubled its freighter capacity to Tokyo’s Narita Airport by increasing weekly flights from one to two, supporting Japan’s key industrial sectors including automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals. Flights to Hong Kong have been raised to 37 per week, offering greater flexibility on one of the world’s most export-driven trade corridors.
The carrier has also extended its reach into central China with three weekly freighter flights from Zhengzhou, linking the industrial hub of Henan Province to Dubai and global markets. Emirates SkyCargo has additionally resumed freighter services from Singapore, operating one weekly flight via Mumbai to Dubai to support one of Asia’s most important trade routes.
Elsewhere in the region, the carrier continues to operate weekly freighter flights to Bangkok, supporting exports of technology products, consumer goods, and perishables, alongside four weekly flights to Hanoi, giving Vietnamese exporters direct access to Middle Eastern and global markets.
Beyond its dedicated freighter network, Emirates SkyCargo leverages the belly capacity of Emirates’ wide-body passenger fleet, currently providing cargo space on more than 320 weekly passenger flights across the region.
Emirates SkyCargo is participating in Air Cargo China 2026, Asia’s largest air cargo and air logistics trade show, running from June 24 to 26, 2026.
