Dubai, UAE — Sept. 2026 — flydubai has announced the next phase of its fleet development plans, which includes growing its fleet to more than 100 aircraft, alongside the launch of a new cabin retrofit program starting this September.
The airline is set to receive 11 new aircraft in 2026, comprising seven Boeing 737 MAX 9s and four Boeing 737 MAX 8s, marking another significant milestone in the carrier’s growth journey.
The new deliveries form part of flydubai’s long-term fleet renewal plan, which will support the replacement of older aircraft and provide the airline with greater flexibility to expand its network. The additional aircraft will offer more flexibility to improve network efficiency, increase operational capacity on existing destinations, and support future expansion.
The introduction of newer-generation aircraft, alongside flydubai’s continued focus on operating a modern and more fuel-efficient fleet, is expected to enhance the quality and efficiency of the travel experience for customers on board.
Commenting on the announcement, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said that surpassing 100 aircraft represents a major achievement for the airline and reflects the scale of its development.
He described the new deliveries as a core part of the airline’s long-term fleet strategy, giving it the capacity and flexibility needed to support its growing operations while continuing to operate one of the newest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the skies.
He added that the new cabin retrofit program represents another important investment in the airline’s products, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to enhancing the travel experience on board flydubai flights.
The increased capacity in premium travel services is expected to help the airline meet growing demand for business class on key international routes, while allowing more efficient use of available capacity within its current flight schedules.
