Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has announced that it will unveil SANAD, a new off-road, multi-mission emergency response vehicle, at EMS World Expo 2026 in Orlando, Florida.

Designed in Dubai, SANAD will be showcased during the event from 30 September to 2 October at the Orange County Convention Centre. The vehicle will be displayed and demonstrated daily at the stand of FERNO, one of the development partners involved in equipping its medical cabin.

SANAD has been developed to respond to emergencies in locations that conventional ambulances may struggle to reach. It combines an off-road platform with a fully equipped medical cabin capable of supporting critical care in challenging environments.

The vehicle is designed for use during natural disasters, mass-casualty incidents, search-and-rescue missions and routine medical emergencies, while maintaining the clinical capabilities expected from a modern critical care ambulance.

SANAD can accommodate up to 14 people, including two patients on stretchers. It is also equipped with smart monitoring, integrated tracking and asset-management technology, allowing it to operate as a mobile medical post rather than solely as a patient transport vehicle.

Dubai Ambulance said the vehicle reflects the “Dubai-it” philosophy launched in 2026 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, encouraging the development of innovative solutions created in Dubai.

Several specialist manufacturers contributed to SANAD’s development. TORSUS supplied the base vehicle, while FERNO provided patient-handling and iNTRAXX equipment-mounting systems. Bristol handled fabrication, Whelen supplied the lighting system, Acetech provided the control system, UXE developed patient analytics and situational awareness systems, and Frestems supplied the patient-loading system.

The vehicle features a permanent 4×4 platform, electronically adjustable air suspension, a military-grade loading system, smart lighting, tracking and asset-management technology, along with advanced cabin monitoring and scene-surveillance systems.

Dubai Ambulance said its participation at EMS World Expo aims to showcase Emirati innovation, strengthen partnerships with international emergency medical services agencies and manufacturers, and raise awareness of SANAD ahead of possible future deployments and collaborations.

The EMS World Expo brings together thousands of emergency medical services professionals, field providers and agency leaders from more than 50 countries.

Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, CEO of Dubai Ambulance, said SANAD reflects the organisation’s commitment to providing trusted, agile and proactive ambulance services while responding to emergencies that traditional ambulances may not be able to reach.

Renee LaPine, President and CEO of FERNO, said the company was proud to support Dubai Ambulance and highlighted FERNO’s long-standing focus on developing technologies designed to improve emergency medical response and patient care.
