Gargash Prime and JINGDONG Property, the infrastructure investment and asset management arm of JD.com, have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture focused on developing a major logistics facility in Dubai.

The proposed project will cover around 2.5 million square feet of land, equivalent to approximately 250,000 square metres, and is planned as a regional distribution and fulfilment hub serving supply chain requirements across the UAE and wider Middle East.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Dubai Business Forum – China in Shenzhen, organised by Dubai Chambers, in the presence of Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers.

The agreement reflects the strengthening commercial relationship between businesses in the UAE and China, while highlighting the role of direct engagement in supporting cross-border investment and strategic partnerships.

For Gargash Prime, the planned joint venture forms part of its strategy to expand its presence in large-scale real estate and logistics infrastructure through partnerships with international industry leaders.

The project also supports the UAE’s efforts to strengthen its position as a major global trade and logistics centre and is aligned with the economic diversification objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

Shehab Gargash, Founder of Gargash Prime, said the partnership would bring together the capabilities of both companies to develop infrastructure capable of supporting the next phase of the UAE’s economic growth.

He said the venture would contribute to the country’s efforts to further strengthen its standing as an international logistics and trade hub.

Walid Hizaoui, Chief Strategy Officer of Gargash Prime, said the project would provide the company with the scale and international partnership required to establish a significant logistics footprint in the region.

He added that the development demonstrates how Gargash Prime is translating its real estate ambitions into infrastructure projects designed to support the continued expansion of the UAE’s trade and logistics sectors.

Carl Chen, CEO of JINGDONG Property, described the partnership as an important step in the company’s long-term development in the UAE.

He said the planned distribution and fulfilment facility would enhance JINGDONG Property’s regional capabilities while providing high-quality logistics infrastructure to local and international customers.

Feng Guo, CEO of JD.com Middle East, highlighted the UAE’s strategic position as a gateway connecting major international markets.

He said the country’s global connectivity, advanced infrastructure and business-friendly environment make it an important location for logistics investment.

Under the partnership, JINGDONG Property’s technology and logistics capabilities will be combined with Gargash Prime’s local market expertise to develop infrastructure aimed at supporting more efficient and resilient supply chains across the UAE and the wider region.

JINGDONG Property currently manages more than 300 infrastructure assets worldwide, representing over 28 million square metres of gross floor area and more than US$16 billion in assets under management.

The company focuses on the investment, development and management of high-standard logistics parks, business parks and data centres. Its customers span industries including e-commerce, third-party logistics, manufacturing, retail and emerging sectors.

The agreement also adds momentum to growing economic and commercial cooperation between the UAE and China.

Its announcement during Dubai Chambers’ visit to Shenzhen further highlights Dubai’s role as a platform for international investment, trade and strategic business partnerships.

For Gargash Prime, the joint venture marks another step in expanding its real estate and logistics portfolio while pursuing partnerships with global companies to develop large-scale infrastructure projects serving both the UAE and regional markets.
