Schroders Wealth Management is continuing to invest in and expand its coverage across the Middle East. The next phase of growth will strengthen connections between the region and key global wealth centres, supporting the firm’s international ambitions and further enhancing its wealth management offering across Switzerland, Asia and the UK.
To support this the firm has made a number of key strategic hires in Switzerland including Neil De Sousa, who has been appointed Head of the Middle East and Geneva (joined from HSBC), Daniel Roca, Senior Relationship Manager covering the region (joined from Banque Vontobel), Aleya Aleisa, Head of Marketing & Communications for Europe and the Middle East (joined from BlackRock), and Hélène Castro, Head of Wealth Advisory, Europe & Middle East (joined from Edmond de Rothschild). Together, these appointments strengthen the firm’s capabilities to support clients from the Middle East, bringing together dedicated regional leadership, relationship management, wealth advisory and marketing expertise.
Luigi Pigorini was also appointed Chair and Independent Non-Executive Director of Schroder & Co. Bank AG, Switzerland, on August 18, 2026. Luigi has extensive wealth management and investment banking experience and has held various senior roles in wealth management, notably as EMEA CEO, Citi Private Bank, and head of EMEA Wealth Management.
The firm is planning additional hires in the near future.
Alexander Pronk, CEO Europe and the Middle East, Schroders Wealth Management, said:
“This expansion reflects our continued investment in the people, expertise and international connectivity required to support high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, entrepreneurs, charities, endowments and globally connected families. We are focusing on strengthening the team, expanding client coverage and serving the evolving needs of increasingly sophisticated investors in the region. Combining local expertise with access to Schroders’ global investment platform, including capabilities across public and private markets, is going to support clients and families with their wealth planning and complex, cross-border needs.”
Neil De Sousa, Head of the Middle East and Geneva, Schroders Wealth Management, said:
“The Middle East is entering an exciting new era of wealth creation, with growing private wealth and increasingly sophisticated, globally minded clients. Schroders’ heritage, global reach and local presence position us well to build long-term relationships with entrepreneurs, families, business owners and institutions across the region. We have ambitious plans to invest in our clients, our people and our capabilities, and I am excited to help drive the next phase of growth.”
The new investment reflects the continuation of a long-term strategic commitment to the Middle East, where Schroders Wealth Management sees significant growth opportunities as the UAE and broader GCC rapidly strengthen their position as global wealth management hubs, supported by the migration of an estimated US$63 billion in private wealth into the region in 2025.[1] The Schroders Group has been present in Dubai since 2007, serving its regional clients for over three decades.
Being one of the world’s most dynamic wealth markets, the Middle East region is a key component of the firm’s international growth strategy, attracting entrepreneurs, international families and globally mobile wealth. Clients are becoming more sophisticated and are increasingly looking beyond investment products for advice covering structuring, governance, succession and long-term family planning.
Earlier this month, Nuveen completed its acquisition of Schroders. Nuveen and Schroders intend to build on the strong presence and market positioning of Schroders’ wealth management businesses, including Cazenove Capital, which are key strategic elements of the combined firm’s strategy.
The combined firm brings together complementary investment capabilities, global reach and deep local expertise, with approximately US$2.6 trillion in assets under management across more than 40 markets worldwide.
