The Emirates Arabian Horse Society National Championship is set to begin on Tuesday, October 27, at Boudheib Academy, bringing together 253 Arabian horses owned by 179 participants from leading studs across the UAE.
The two-day championship is part of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society’s (EAHS) 2026–2027 season calendar, which aims to promote Arabian horse breeding, support local owners and breeders, and strengthen the UAE’s reputation as a major destination for Arabian horse competitions.
Two-Day Championship to Showcase Arabian Horse Excellence
The opening day will focus on female Arabian horses, with competitions beginning at 10:00 a.m. The programme will feature Yearling Fillies in two sections, followed by two-year-old fillies competing across three sections and three-year-old fillies divided into two sections.
The first day’s events will conclude with Senior Mares aged four years and above, competing in four separate sections.
On Wednesday, October 28, the spotlight will shift to male horses. The schedule includes Yearling Colts, two-year-old colts and three-year-old colts, followed by Senior Stallions aged four years and above.
The championship will conclude with six final categories: Yearling Fillies, Junior Fillies aged two and three years, Mares, Yearling Colts, Junior Colts aged two and three years, and Stallions.
Digital Judging System to Ensure Fair Competition
The championship will use the Rabdan digital judging system, developed by the Emirates Arabian Horse Society to improve transparency, accuracy and fairness in Arabian horse competitions.
Judges will evaluate participating horses against established standards, including overall type, head, neck, body, conformation, legs and movement.
The five highest-scoring horses from each qualifying class will advance to their respective championship finals, where the leading contenders will compete for top honours.
UAE Strengthens Its Position in Arabian Horse Sports
The national championship forms part of a broader programme designed to advance Arabian horse competitions and encourage greater participation from breeders and owners throughout the Emirates.
The Emirates Arabian Horse Society’s 2026–2027 calendar includes 17 championships and events, five of which are international competitions.
The season also features Arabian horse auctions organised by Sharjah Equestrian Club, Ajman Stud and Dubai Stud, providing additional opportunities for breeders and enthusiasts to participate in the country’s growing equestrian sector.
The programme is scheduled to conclude on April 11, 2027, reinforcing the Society’s commitment to preserving Arabian horse heritage while promoting excellence in breeding and competition.
