Saab and ST Engineering expand their global partnership

MoU targets new opportunities in markets of interest

Saab and ST Engineering (Singapore Technologies Engineering) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Defence and Security Equipment International 2023 in London, England.

The MoU, signed on September 13, 2023, signifies both companies’ intent to strengthen their relationship and collaboration to explore opportunities in markets of mutual interest.

Through the MoU, both companies will expand the partnership and target opportunities in radar integration and support, air defence system Integration, unmanned systems, training and simulation and autonomy.

Singapore base

Headquartered in Singapore, ST Engineering is a multinational technology and engineering group in the aerospace, smart city, defence, and public security sectors.

Dean Rosenfield, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Saab, said: “This signing of the MoU is the result of 30 years of cooperation between Saab and ST Engineering.

“The partnership will see both companies co-creating ‘best of breed’ technological solutions for our customers locally and internationally. We look forward to a deeper collaboration that will benefit both parties.”

Chua Jin Kiat, Executive Vice President and Head of International Defence Business, Defence and Public Security Cluster, ST Engineering, added: “ST Engineering has a longstanding working relationship with Saab, and we believe that we can deepen this partnership, to address opportunities not only in each other’s home market but also the larger global market, leveraging on each other’s strengths and market positions.”

30-year partnership

ST Engineering has collaborated with Saab in Singapore’s naval, underwater, radar and missile programmes for over 30 years.

The MoU signing is a testament to both companies’ trust and longstanding relationship.

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Saab is a leading defence and security company that designs, manufactures, and maintains advanced systems in aeronautics, weapons, command and control, sensors and underwater systems.

The company has significant operations worldwide and is part of the domestic defence capability of several nations, including the UAE.
